This study aimed to describe the thinking of students math skills of high, medium, and low in problem solving PISA. This research was qualitative. Subjects of this study consisted of three students of class IX MTs. Raudhatut Thalibin taken by purposive technique. Details of the three subjects of the study were the subject of male high math skills, one male subject was math skills and the subject of male-time low math skills. Research data collection techniques with semi-structured interview based on the PISA problem. The results of this study indicate that the thinking of students in problem solving PISA in terms of mathematical abilities in general have in common. The process of thinking of all the group's ability to solve problems PISA mathematics starting from the stage of problem identification, problem representation, the settlement plan, carry out the settlement plan, evaluating the settlement plan and evaluate selesaian problem. From the stage of the thought process, only the low mathematical ability students that show the difference. Low student math skills did stage the thought processes of representation problem.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir siswa kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah dalam menyelesaikan masalah PISA. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri atas 3 siswa kelas IX MTs. Raudhatut Thalibin yang diambil berdasarkan teknik purposive. Rincian tiga subjek penelitian tersebut adalah satu subjek laki-laki kemampuan matematika tinggi, satu subjek laki-laki kemampuan matematika sedang dan satu subjek laki-kali kemampuan matematika rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian dengan wawancara semi terstruktur berdasarkan masalah PISA. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah PISA ditinjau dari kemampuan matematika secara umum memiliki kesamaan. Proses berpikir semua kelompok kemampuan matematika dalam menyelesaikan masalah PISA dimulai dari tahap identifikasi masalah, representasi masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, mengevaluasi rencana penyelesaian dan mengevaluasi selesaian masalah. Dari tahapan proses berpikir tersebut, hanya siswa kemampuan matematika rendah yang menunjukkan perbedaan. Siswa kemampuan matematika rendah tidak melakukan tahap proses berpikir representasi masalah.
